DayZ

Mod«DayZ» introduces various apocalyptic features from the game DayZ into Minecraft Pocket Edition. DayZ is a well-known survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies and modern weaponry to combat them. If you enjoy the survival mode in MCPE and wish to elevate your experience, this mod is perfect for you.

Creatures

Some mobs in Minecraft PE have been replaced with zombies and other beings from the DayZ universe.

Infected (zombies, zombie pigmen, huskies) are hostile mobs that roam the MCPE world both day and night. They are twice as strong and faster, posing a significant threat in the realm of Minecraft PE.

Survivors (villagers) inhabit small settlements. You can always trade with them. However, no one can feel truly safe anymore, as survivors are constantly at risk of becoming infected.

Bandits (stray, wither skeleton, skeleton) are humans who have turned hostile in this grim world. It’s best to avoid bandits, as they are typically armed with rifles, though some may occasionally wield melee weapons.

Stray Dogs (wolves) are dogs left alone after their owners perished during the apocalypse. Their behavior is neutral. You can tame them with dog food, alleviating your loneliness.

Weapons and Armor

This addon features numerous modified original items from Minecraft Pocket Edition. These items have been altered to facilitate easier survival in an apocalyptic setting. They can be obtained from the mobs mentioned above.

• Throwing Knife (Snowball): a decent throwing weapon that inflicts minor damage.
• Grenade (Egg): creates a large explosion and deals massive damage.
• PM (Ender Pearl): inflicts good damage but has a cooldown between uses.
• AK47 (Fishing Rod): a powerful weapon that deals significant damage but is somewhat difficult to aim.
• M4A1 (Bow): a solid weapon, though not as powerful as the AK47. Requires ammunition (arrows) to fire.
• Molotov Cocktail (Experience Bottle): a good explosive that ignites fires.
• Canned Food (Mushroom Stew): for trading with survivors.
• Green Camouflage (Iron Armor).
• Leather Armor (Diamond Armor).
• Plastic Armor (Gold Armor).

Installing DayZ (.mcpack)

• Download the mod labeled as “.mcpack” below.
• Run the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
• Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to the world settings.
• Set the imported:
  — Resource Packs.
  — Addons.
• Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
• It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!

Installing DayZ (.zip)

• Download the mod below.
• Extract the two folders from the archive.
• Move the folder “DayZ Beh” to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ folder.
• Move the folder “DayZ Res” to the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ folder.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
• Create a new world or edit an existing one.
• Set the selected world with the resource pack and addon that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
• Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
