In Minecraft, there are three dimensions: the Overworld, the Nether, and the End. Initially, during the adventure update, the developers intended to introduce the Aether dimension, but it was ultimately replaced by the End. What if the developers had decided to keep the Aether? How would it have appeared? The creator of the mod “Aether (Aether)” has crafted something reminiscent of this unrealized dimension. It is situated high above the clouds and features floating islands.
Additionally, Minecraft will introduce 14 new blocks that generate on these sky islands, which only appear when you are near the surface during the daytime.
New islands are created around the highest points in the world. The longer you stay in a particular world, the more frequently new islands will emerge.
On the islands, two unique entities spawn: the whirlwind and the dark whirlwind. They drop rare items a few minutes after their appearance and grant nearby creatures a levitation effect. The dark whirlwind generates hostile mobs and only appears during nighttime.
Additionally, there are two regular entities that manifest during the day: light and storm. The light leaves behind edible light jelly.
Occasionally, a boss may appear on the islands, but the likelihood of encountering one is quite low. Additionally, there are two new ores available for crafting swords.
To ensure the mod functions correctly, please enable experimental gameplay.
