The latest test version of Minecraft 1.16.220.50 has some exciting features to showcase. This time, it’s not just a few minor fixes. The beta can now be regarded as a nearly complete update for caves and cliffs. However, there’s even more new content on the horizon.

What’s New in Minecraft PE 1.16.220.50

Let’s start by noting that in Minecraft Pocket Edition 1.16.220.50, glowing squids have made a comeback:

• they now emit particles when struck;
• the squid model has been fixed to prevent it from shifting;
• ink and glowing frames have been reintroduced to the game.

Now you can enjoy the enhanced mountain generation! In Minecraft BE, five new sub-biomes have been introduced:

• high peaks;
• snowy slopes;
• mountain groves;
• alpine meadows;
• snow-capped summits.

The overall height of the mountains has been increased to 320 blocks, up from the usual 256. Additionally, players can now mine emeralds, iron ore, and coal in these regions. Furthermore, nearly all ore blocks have received updated textures. Please note that mixing the new mountain generation with the old may cause issues in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

Bug Fixes in Minecraft 1.16.220.50

A significant number of issues have been resolved in the beta version:

• Fixed over 15 stalactite bugs;
• Addressed a crash when renaming maps on the anvil;
• Corrected the issue of powdered snow appearing on fences;
• Resolved the glowing frame error on DirectX11 and mobile devices;
• Adjusted the positioning of shields on mobs in Minecraft for Android;
• Enhanced block placement;
• Fixed a bug affecting command block functionality;
• Corrected the duplication of characters when entering commands in the console;
• Improved search efficiency on the Marketplace;
• Eliminated the error of incorrect text reading while playing in VR;
• Removed the bug where villagers passed through walls to reach beds;
• Updated several components for GameTest;
• Implemented numerous technical fixes.
