Caves and Cliffs in 1.16.200.52
The developers have introduced caves and cliffs into the experimental gameplay for everyone to test before they are included in the Minecraft 1.16 version. Please remember that when enabling experimental features, your worlds may not be saved, so make sure to back them up separately. Goats and powdered snow will be found in the caves and cliffs. Goats
To encounter goats in the game, you will need to switch to experimental mode… So, what kind of mob is this?
Goats are the monarchs of the mountains! They excel at climbing rocky terrains and rugged landscapes, sustaining minimal damage from falls. They love to leap, often at the most unexpected times, and are also ready to defend themselves by butting enemies off cliffs! However, if a goat crashes into a tree, it will lose a horn, and we’ll discover how to utilize it later…
As for their spawning locations, there is currently no specific information on where goats will reside, so for now, they will appear in biomes with steep descents.
Similar to goats, powdered snow is available in experimental mode and exclusively in Creative inventory. Here are some characteristics of this type of snow:

- Walking on this snow is easier when wearing leather boots.
- Goats are too clever to venture into this snow.
- Falling into powdered snow does not cause any damage.
- The texture of powdered snow is distinct from regular snow.
- Moving through powdered snow slows down all entities.
Bug Fixes
As usual, game stability has been enhanced, and random crashes have been addressed. Additionally, fixes have been made to mobs, gameplay, commands, graphics, textures, user interface, screen reading, and blocks.
Gameplay Fixes:
- The contents of double chests no longer disappear upon world reload.
- Cocoa pods, originating from the jungles, are now generated in the correct orientation.
- Right-clicking on a snow block with a shovel no longer breaks the snow block.
- Dirty paths (previously known as grass paths) can now be created with a shovel on dirt, ash, mycelium, or mud (as well as on grass).
Mob Fixes:
- Villagers will no longer steal workstations from one another.
- Mobs will no longer randomly stop attacking and following their targets.
- Piglins that are close to each other can no longer pick up the same item if it falls between them.
- Bees now only exit in front of beehives and bee nests.
Command Fixes:
- The /playsound command now accurately plays sound for all players within the effective range.
- The duration of the /effect command is now capped at 1,000,000 seconds.
- Commands for adding areas with the same flag now prevent the addition of areas with identical names more than once.
Block Fixes:
- Introduced query.cardinal_facing_2d to determine the direction of the ground plane.
- Enabled the placement of block models in the models/blocks directory.
- Added functionality for item triggers to send events to the block they interact with.
- Entities will no longer teleport back and forth beyond solid objects if there isn’t enough space for multiple objects.
