As is customary on Thursdays, an update for Minecraft 1.16.0.61 has been released for Android, featuring bug fixes and optimizations for both the game client and its overall size. We hope that the release of Minecraft 1.16 will happen soon, but for now, we won’t speculate on when we can download the full version…

Fixes in Minecraft 1.16.0.61

A total of nearly 60 bugs have been addressed. Among these are fixes related to crashes, graphics, mobs, blocks, the interface, and other intriguing aspects:

Good news for Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 users – Minecraft will now launch successfully!
When using the /kill command, Minecraft PE will no longer crash when the dragon respawns.
The use of the /fill command with Soul Fire no longer causes crashes.
Fixed skin rendering and world loading issues in MCPE.
The distance at which mobs disappear is now influenced by the world’s render distance.
Water will now freeze similarly to the real world and like in Java Edition – starting from the edges.
Corrected the placement of ravines compared to earlier versions of Minecraft.
Resolved an issue that occasionally caused Redstone torches to freeze or disconnect upon world reload.
The “Feather Falling” and “Protection” enchantments now provide the correct damage mitigation.
Parrots have been slightly fixed, preventing them from getting stuck while flying.
Redstone torches will no longer freeze or reset when the world is reloaded.
The stems of mushrooms no longer create brown mushroom blocks when touched by silk.
Fixed an issue that caused maps to become invisible.
Paintings now display correctly in Minecraft 1.16.0.61 on Android.
Beacon beams are now rendered accurately.
Corrected the animation of flames and animated structures.
Enchanted items will no longer flicker when the cursor moves over them.
Numerous user interface bugs have been resolved, primarily related to user input.
Addressed the issue with ‘tick_world’ entity teleportation over long distances, which could cause them to vanish.
