I often overlook the most significant details, and even when leaving my home, I sometimes realize that I’m not wearing a jacket or a t-shirt, which makes it clear that I can’t rely on my memory. I’m really grateful you didn’t ask me about memories related to Minecraft. Instead, you asked about yours!
We aimed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the game in a grand way so that years from now we could look back on this day with tears of joy. We were curious about its significance in your life and invited you to share your memories on Twitter using the hashtag #MinecraftMemories. The responses poured in abundantly, each one unique and wonderful in its own right. Unfortunately, we physically couldn’t include them all in our article, so we selected only the most intriguing ones. A huge thank you to everyone who shared their little story.
Haven’t had the chance to write yet? No worries, it’s better late than never! Head over to Twitter and share your thoughts. Just remember to include the hashtag; otherwise, your post might go unnoticed.
Here are some stories shared by players:“This screenshot was taken when I was genuinely excited about baking a cake in Minecraft. Gathering all these items was exhausting, but it was worth it!”
The cake is definitely worth all the effort, Hadrian! Please put ten candles on it for us!
Oh my goodness!!! This is our stunning launch pad! It used to be magnificent!
«I checked out several other uses of the hashtag, which made me think that I also want to get involved in this. I’ve been building for about seven years now, and even though I have a bit less time to create maps for sharing at the moment, I’m not planning to stop building anytime soon!»
Wow, your builds are absolutely amazing! I’m a huge fan of yours, cakeicing!
“I’ve been constructing palaces since 2013 and still find joy in it. The same palace from 2014 and again in 2019.”
Five years have passed, yet the palace appears as if it has never been touched. Now that’s what I call a well-built structure!
“I recall a time when I dedicated nearly all my leisure hours to placing blocks… and ultimately, it led me to connect with an amazing community! Thank you!”
Thank you, Marceau! To be honest, he was one of the first to have an article published about him.
“My earliest memory of the game is one that I will always cherish. It was during version Minecraft 1.7.2. I spawned near a vast ocean and was captivated by the beautiful, uneven terrain. The first instinct I had was… DIG STRAIGHT DOWN! Since then, I’ve never stopped playing.”
Never, I repeat, NEVER make the same mistake! You know what? We’re here to assist you, MindCrafter, but this is your first and last warning!
“Home, sweet home. Thank you for the last decade.”
We appreciate your presence, TalkingTaco. A huge thank you for allowing me to write about talking tacos on this platform. Another dream of mine has come true!
“I suppose I’m just doing what others do. I found a couple of my oldest screenshots from when I first started building in Minecraft Bedrock, around 4-5 years ago, showcasing my most ambitious project from 2018. Enjoy!” It seems he’s not exactly wishing us a happy anniversary. Thanks for sharing with us, SwiftBeatz. Now, could someone please get me some calming tea? “My favorite memory dates back to when I posted an image of my drawing featuring the Illager Beast (aka The Ravager) on Reddit. A few days later, I logged into Discord and saw a message saying that Jeb, the lead developer, commented on my artwork and expressed his appreciation!”
Wow, isn’t Jeb amazing? Yet he has never said anything like that about my drawings…
“My earliest memory is when I created a world and accidentally double-clicked in the air, causing me to start flying. I couldn’t get back down and had to delete the world!”
Do you think it’s embarrassing, Hammad? There was a time when I made the same mistake in front of my team and later asked them how I could make it right. I feel like I’ll be blushing about that incident until my 50th birthday!“Happy Birthday! I’ve been playing for ten years! Time flies when you’re having fun; looking back now, I realize so much has changed. I used to love digging channels to transport water from one place to another since there were no buckets.”
Yes, indeed, buckets have made a significant difference! But let me ask you: did you really enjoy doing that?
“Happy birthday to my all-time favorite game, Minecraft! I will always cherish those days when my friends and I built hotels and rented them out.”
We were little entrepreneurs! Hmm, is it too late to approach the developers with a request to add a concierge in the “Village & Pillage” update?
“My earliest memory. I managed to find my mom’s old computer and restore this world from the hard drive!”
You are incredibly lucky! Just think about how many other lost worlds remain on old computers and consoles!
“One of my favorite memories is when my friends and I decided to stay up all night and built the largest structure we could.”
That sounds hilarious! I hope it was before they added the Phantom to the game…
“I remember the first time I played the demo version of Minecraft Bedrock on my iPad Mini; I was terrified of the zombies. When a zombie entered my treehouse, I jumped and ran away from the tablet.”
There’s no shame in that, Birb masta. The nights in the game are always terrifying and quite frightening. Honestly, we’ve been wondering for ten years why this game is still allowed to be sold to children!
“The countless friends I’ve made while playing this game are simply amazing, and after consistently playing since the beta version, I often take it for granted. However, for me and other builders, it’s more than just a game. Oh, and building has been quite enjoyable too :D”
That’s awesome, Upixel! But please remember that friendship is more important than construction! Of course, unless you’re a professional builder.
“Happy decade! It’s been a long time, and I appreciate the passion and creativity you’ve shared with me.”
And thank you for being with us all these years! Your builds are absolutely stunning, Remi!
“This is my journey of just over a year and a quarter in building! I’m thrilled to see the progress I’ve made, and I eagerly await what the future holds!”
If we were to predict the future, I would confidently say that HeavensGift is going to create even more amazing things!
“I have been playing Minecraft for over eight years, and it’s incredible to reflect on all the memories I’ve gathered. I’ve met new people and discovered new interests along the way. I also found an old building from my journey back in 2010; it’s astonishing to see how much progress I’ve made.”
Great builds, Alex! It’s truly fascinating to observe each builder’s creative journey. The photos of their first and latest works are simply stunning, showcasing the importance of overcoming obstacles to reach one’s goals!
“There’s a true joy in losing track of time while immersed in something, and I found myself completely absorbed in one of the greatest games ever created!”
I totally get you, Rajkkor! I often find myself engrossed in Minecraft Pocket Edition, not realizing how much time has passed. I have an important task at hand—writing articles—but sometimes I just forget…“Everyone loves mazes, right? November 2013”
If luck is on my side, I might escape just in time for the twentieth anniversary of Minecraft Bedrock…
“I remember that first day when I started playing Minecraft. It was with version 0.4.0, which introduced the creepers you already know. I absolutely love it.”
If someone had approached us ten years ago and claimed that a depressed green figure about to explode would become the face of our game, I wouldn’t have believed them and would have thought they were unwell.
“From modest, makeshift survival homes to poorly designed modern houses, and now striving to create a truly beautiful, flourishing city. I embarked on this journey in 2011 and have been here ever since. This is all thanks to the incredible builders and friends I’ve encountered along the way.”
Every great achievement starts with a small step. Your story could serve as an inspiring example for aspiring builders dreaming of success!
“One of my fondest memories is the moment I first started playing multiplayer with my friend. The collection of memories from our adventures, buildings, and the mistakes we made while taking selfies.”
How amazing! But does anyone remember that there were glitches in Minecraft Bedrock? Of course not! *buying a ticket and flying off to another country*
“A game where players craft their own narratives”
Indeed, but no one will be able to create such a game because it has already been done!
“Defeating the Ender Dragon with some of your friends”
You all did an amazing job! Sometimes I struggle even with a spider 🙁
“Around 2012, I decided to create a survival world. I wanted it to be unique, so I chose my grandfather’s first and last name as the seed. When I was born, I found myself at the most beautiful spawn point I had ever seen in version 1.2.5.”
That’s amazing, Kevin! Thank you for being with us all these years.
“I defeated the Ender Dragon when I first entered single-player mode in survival.”
