Today’s builder, Zosia, is a true magician. When it comes to crafting buildings for royalty and the affluent, she showcases her full creative potential! She has managed to create numerous dazzling homes, each one appearing more extravagant than the last!
“I have a deep affection for palaces,” – she tells me, – “I admire their harmony and grandeur. In the past, I built in a medieval style, but that wasn’t enough for me—I craved more improvisation. Now, I improvise with every structure I create.”
Diving into construction without specific plans and emerging with such a polished building is truly an achievement; thanks to her experience, Zosia has learned to feel the power of architecture through diverse creations and has mastered the art of making structures completely fresh. “Sometimes the process is very quick, but other times it takes much longer,” – she explains.
For instance, the Fairfax Palace took quite some time due to its intricate golden details and ruby-red roof. The grounds also feature a fountain located in the courtyard and a garden enclosed by a fence at the back, allowing residents to bask in the summer sun outdoors.
I am a huge fan of the details Zosia incorporates into all her constructions: the elegant curves, blue windows, and the shining white spire of the Sisters’ Palace.
It’s hard for me to choose, but I think my favorite detail might be the statues adorning the roof of Beauclerk, along with the window designs that are so intricate they resemble lace.
Zosia confides that she too finds it challenging to pick a favorite among her creations. “Generally, I don’t evaluate my own buildings well because it’s a subjective matter,” – she says. However, there is a soft spot for her latest creation, the Baltimore Palace. “I really appreciate that while creating it, I utilized everything I’ve learned over the past year. I’m proud of how detailed and precise it is, and this is my first published palace featuring a dome, which I’ve always wanted to build.” Remarkably, she accomplished all this in just two days!
Zosia also used the Baltimore Palace to spread a message of love during Pride Month this June. She was inspired to express her experiences regarding homophobia and her desire for love and peace worldwide. “Love is love, and nothing else matters,” – she told me. Well said!
She is genuinely proud of her constructions and intends to share her pride when her next project is unveiled. Recreating the Polish palace of Szkociny is truly remarkable. For the first time, Zosia built something based on photographs, resulting in a simpler stone palace rather than the sparkling gold typically adorning her works. It’s refreshing to mix things up occasionally, and she tells me that everything is going very well so far.
Once she finishes with Szkociny, Zosia simply wants to keep creating. “I started building in Minecraft Pocket Edition when I was around 10 years old,” – she shares with me. “Actually, I’m self-taught!” That’s a quirky way to say she learned everything she knows on her own. “I’ve never looked at any construction tutorials,” – she clarifies. Nevertheless, she acknowledges the lessons from school. “I learned how to make my buildings more realistic and how to add some whimsical details.”
Zosia mentions that she often finds inspiration while listening to music, like many builders within the community. I eagerly anticipate where this inspiration will lead her, both due to the meticulous beauty of her creations and the powerful messages she chooses to convey through them.
