The Woodlands:Extra mod for Minecraft Pocket Edition (MCPE) enhances the game by revamping existing biomes and introducing an impressive 42 new ones, crafted entirely from vanilla blocks. This transformation focuses on enriching the landscape with larger, more realistic trees, an assortment of boulders, vibrant flowers, and diverse ground cover. In addition, the biomes’ distribution has been thoughtfully restructured to create a more natural exploration experience, while major climate zones, from snowy landscapes to balmy areas, remain closely aligned with the original vanilla settings, ensuring easy navigation for players seeking all biomes.
Important Note: This mod incorporates Woodlands: The Core (Vanilla), so make sure to avoid installing both versions simultaneously.
Dependencies:
- Oh The Trees You’ll Grow by Corgi_Taco
- Optional: Use any mod similar to “Treecapitator” to facilitate tree chopping without leaving decaying leaves behind.
Now Compatible with Fabric!
Fabric API is mandatory for those using the Fabric version of this mod.
Compatibility with NeoForge (>= v.1.21.1-1.3.1)
Currently Tested Compatible Mods:
- Biomes O’Plenty
- Regions Unexplored
- Serene Seasons
Spoiler: Each biome is tagged according to its appearance, with Serene Seasons compatibility. Brightly colored or icy biomes are blacklisted or placed on the “slight seasonal color change” list to preserve their intended essence. Most other biomes will exhibit seasonal color changes as expected. If you prefer a different setup, you can modify the biome tags directly within the mod’s .jar file. Open the .jar using 7zip or similar tools, then navigate to “data/sereneseasons/tags/worldgen/biome/…”. There you will find three files, which you can edit with Notepad:
- blacklisted_biomes: This prevents any seasonal changes. Defaults include Ice Wasteland, Snowy Hills, Aelven Woods, and Mossy Swampland.
- lesser_color_changed_biomes: These biomes will see minimal changes and can still experience snowfall during winter. Defaults include Autumnal Grove, Crimson Wood, Elder Forest, Fairy Forest, Fir Woods, Golden Aspen Forest, Grim Forest, Old Swamp, Prairie, Redwood Forest, Snowy Forest, Snowy Coniferous Forest, and Tundra.
- tropical_biomes: This is for all warm climate biomes.
Also Compatible:
- Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone (version 1.1 or later!)
- Quark
- Mystic’s Biomes
- Autumnity
- Nyctophobia
- River Redux
- Swampier Swamps
- Alex Caves
- Yung’s Caves
- Blooming Nature
- Geophyllic Reforged
- Nature Arise
- Tectonic
- Nature’s Spirit (Fabric)
Partially Compatible:
- William Wyther’s Overhauled Overworld (may work, but biomes’ appearances can vary)
- Dynamic Trees (only standard trees will change)
Incompatible Mods:
- Litosphere
- William Wyther’s Expanded Ecosphere
- Exospherical Expansion (functions incorrectly but does not crash)
- Terralith (non-functional but does not crash)
Known Compatibility Issues:
Spoiler: The majority of trees boast non-decaying leaves due to their intricate craft. Some vines on trees may not align properly, a known issue linked to the Oh The Trees You’ll Grow mod. Corgi_Taco is aware of this, and we anticipate a future fix. As this feature operates as a datapack at its core, there could be incompatibilities with other mods or datapacks that alter vanilla biomes. Generally, it remains compatible with most setups.
It’s essential to note that modifying or deleting this mod or its .jar file might lead to unexpected world alterations. Always remember to create backups of your important game worlds before making any changes!
