Village Guards

Villages in Minecraft Pocket Edition are typically quite vulnerable, as iron golems only spawn in larger villages, leaving smaller ones defenseless against monsters. The Village Guards addon changes everything. Once you install the Village Guards addon, guardian villagers will spawn in MCPE villages, ready to protect the villagers from hostile mobs.

How Does It Work?

Guardian villagers will replace the wither skeletons, and you can now find them in MCPE villages. These guards carry iron swords and wear chainmail armor. They have stern expressions, so don’t provoke them, or you might regret it.

If a guardian villager detects any threat approaching the village, they will take action. For instance, if a spider approaches without aggression, the moment the villager spots it, they will immediately start attacking.

Guardian villagers are especially useful at night, as you can rest assured that no hostile mobs will set foot in your village or home. Place guardian villagers around your house and sleep soundly. Zombies, skeletons, creepers, and other mobs will be attacked and eliminated by the villagers.

If you find that there aren’t enough guardian villagers or you want more, you can train regular villagers by giving them an iron sword. Long-press on a villager to bring up the button, then tap it to hand the sword to the villager.

• Chance to spawn an archer: 35%

You can change the guard’s weapon by giving them a new one. Currently, you can provide them with an iron sword or a bow.

Guards can be utilized to protect your home, village, or secret base. You can also use a wither skeleton spawn egg to create a guardian villager.

• Wither skeletons have been replaced with guardian villagers.
• They carry iron swords and armor.
• Can open and close doors.
• Automatically attack nearby monsters.
• Spawn in villages.
• Give a villager an iron sword to train them into a guardian villager.
• Weapon customization is possible (bow, iron sword).

Installing Village Guards (.mcpack)

• Download the mod labeled as “.mcpack” below.
• Run the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
• Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to world settings.
• Set the imported:
  — Resource Packs.
  — Addons.
• Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
• It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!

Installing Village Guards (.zip)

• Download the mod below.
• Extract the two folders from the archive.
• Move the folder “village guard behavior” to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ folder.
• Move the folder “village guard resource” to the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ folder.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
• Create a new world or edit an existing one.
• Set the selected world with the resource pack and addon that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
• Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
