The Underwater Swim Fix (MC-220390) mod addresses a crucial issue encountered in Minecraft when players experience inconsistent swimming mechanics. This particular glitch manifests when players, while swimming and simultaneously pressing the sprint button, strike an entity. The result is a discrepancy between what the client perceives and the server’s interpretation; the server believes the player is no longer swimming, leading to perplexing gameplay outcomes.
This fix specifically targets the MC-220390 bug. In essence, it resolves the issue where the hitboxes differ between the server and client, creating an unusual situation where the player appears to be swimming from their perspective, but the server disagrees. This mismatch can lead to frustrating scenarios, such as attempting to navigate through narrow openings, like a 1×1 block space, causing the player to glitch until they stop swimming and start again.
As someone who has faced this annoyance, particularly in monuments, I was motivated to create this fix. The goal is to enhance the overall gameplay experience by eliminating these inconsistencies.
