The polar bear was introduced in Minecraft Pocket Edition version 1.0.0. These creatures are neutral and can be found in the game. The mod titled Tameable Polar Bears allows players to tame bears by feeding them fish, enabling them to keep these animals as pets. They will follow you around, and you can even ride on them.
How does it work?
To tame a polar bear in MCPE, you will need raw fish. This method only works with raw fish.
- iOS / Android: Long press on the polar bear while holding the fish, then tap the Tame button.
- Windows 10: Hold the fish in your hand and right-click on the polar bear.
Continue feeding it raw fish until you see hearts appear, indicating that it has been tamed.
Feeling tired? Hop on the bear and let it carry you. Hold the fish in your hand to steer in Minecraft PE.
You cannot tie the bear to a fence.
Tamed bears can protect you from hostile mobs.
Always treat your tamed bears with respect.
