Client-side Fabric modification for emphasizing specific names in the Tab player roster within Minecraft
Overview
Tab Name Dimmer is a Fabric mod designed for Minecraft that enhances the process of locating important players in the Tab list, particularly on expansive servers where the full player roster doesn’t fit on the screen. Activating the mod requires holding down Shift: while the player list is visible, the names on your allowlist are highlighted, while other players can be dimmed, hidden, or rearranged based on the selected mode of display. This mod is especially beneficial in scenarios involving large multiplayer servers, allowing you to efficiently identify which clan members, teammates, or friends are currently online, even when the standard Tab list is cluttered.
It proves advantageous in situations where:
- the server features numerous online users, making it difficult to identify key names;
- the total number of players exceeds what the standard Tab list can comfortably display;
- you need quick access to your clan, team, or group roster during gameplay;
- you aim to monitor friends, teammates, staff, or specific players with ease;
- you prefer to keep the conventional Tab list unchanged until you actively hold down
Shift; - you wish to import a pre-prepared player list from a
.txtdocument.
Features Offered
Tab Name Dimmer enhances the default player list of Minecraft with:
- dimming effects for names that are not included in your allowlist;
- an easily noticeable roster of names that remain bright;
- various display modes to accommodate different play styles;
- customizable dimming color;
- optional case-sensitive name matching;
- support for importing names from a
.txtfile; - integration with the Mod Menu for in-game adjustments.
Available Display Modes
This mod comes with three unique modes:
ANIMATED_SORT: allows for the smooth repositioning of allowlisted players to the top of the list as long asShiftis held down;FILTER: only allows allowlisted players to remain visible in the Tab menu whileShiftis pressed;EXTRA_HUD: additionally displays allowlisted players in a small separate HUD window whileShiftis engaged.
In all modes, names that are not on the allowlist can be dimmed using the chosen color settings.
