Shield Blocks Fall Damage Overview
This datapack allows players to avoid fall damage by holding their shield downwards. You can customize how much damage is mitigated, offering flexibility in how you play. For an enhanced experience, consider downloading the bouncy variant of this datapack, which enables you to bounce when blocking fall damage with your shield. Remember to also download the necessary additional datapack for this feature (details available in the bouncy version description).
Configuration Options
Adjusting Shield Fall Damage Reduction
If you wish to modify the amount of fall damage your shield can block, simply execute the following command:
/function shieldfall:config/set_shield_fall_damage {value:}
In place of
- 0 will completely negate fall damage
- 0.5 allows for a 50% reduction in fall damage
- 1 indicates no reduction, meaning full fall damage is incurred
Important Notes:
- Ensure that you do not include the < > symbols in your command.
- Setting values under 0 or over 1 may lead to unpredictable results regarding the shield’s damage-absorbing capabilities, so proceed with caution!
Restoring Configuration to Default Settings
If you want to reset the settings back to their original values, use the following command:
/function shieldfall:config/set_defaults
