Notable Features of the Ruinous Mod
New Mobs
- Villager Priest: Appears in priest temples and doesn’t attack. You can offer him gold, diamonds, or emeralds, each with its own donation value—Gold = 1, Diamond = 2, Emerald = 3. After donating, shift-right-click to receive various items depending on your total donations.
- Cultist: Found in cultist camps, this naturally hostile mob poses a challenge to players.
- Mortem: A formidable boss summoned through a specific ritual. In the first phase, it performs a normal attack and a ground slam, shifting to a second phase at half health that adds a spin attack to its arsenal. Mortem drops the powerful Axe of Mortem and inflicts the Death’s Curse effect nearby.
- Crocodile: A passive mob found in swamps and mangrove areas, which can become aggressive if provoked. It has a long-range attack.
- Mecha Croc: Another boss; players can spawn it with a spawn egg, featuring a normal attack and a devastating fire breath attack.
- Gladiator Piglin: A miniboss that spawns in crumbling wastelands and uses a combination of attacks, including a normal attack, ground slam, and fireball.
Distinct Items
- Bottle of Blessing: Grants the Blessed effect.
- Cross: Provides luck when held; offers a 25% chance to receive regeneration 2 while in use.
- Blessed Cross: Enhances luck to level 2 when held and radiates a beam at the target location.
- Cursed Ingot: Obtained when hit by a Cultist while holding a Melted Netherite Ingot.
- Cursed Smithing Template: Dropped by Mortem; can be used to enhance Netherite gear to Cursed status with the Cursed Ingot.
- Melted Netherite Ingot: Acquired by interacting with a volcano using a Netherite ingot.
- Crocodile Scale, Crocodile Tooth, Cursed Equipment, and armor are also part of this mod.
- Axe of Mortem: Allows users to perform a ground slam attack by right-clicking on blocks. The cursed variant has additional functionality, including a spin attack.
Biomes and Structures
- Crumbling Wastelands: A newly generated biome in the Nether, featuring volcanoes atop the Nether roof.
- Priest Temple: Found in the overworld, this structure is home to the Villager Priest.
- Cultist Camp: Generates in plains and serves as a spawning ground for Cultists.
- Volcano: Spawns in the Crumbling Wastelands.
Unique Effects
- Death’s Curse: Reduces health to 50%, preventing regeneration beyond this point.
- Blessed: Offers immunity against the Death’s Curse and Blessed Rays.
- Stunned: Temporarily disables attacking and movement.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Blessed Ray: This mechanic activates from a Blessed Cross, causing damage to all within its path, including the caster.
- Ritual: Initiate this ritual by arranging redstone dust in a plus sign format, complemented by candles. The ritual can begin upon interacting with redstone dust using a Cultist Hook.
Note: I am aware of the current strength of Mortem’s attacks and plan to make adjustments in future updates.
