Have you ever considered how few pets you can tame in your favorite game, Minecraft PE? This issue can now be resolved by installing the mod called Raptors for Minecraft Pocket Edition, which introduces a new mob known as the raptor! You can utilize the raptor in various ways! It can protect you from enemies, carry your items in its storage, or serve as a mode of transportation while exploring the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition. If you are a fan of dinosaurs, this mod is a must-have for your device!
Taming
You can tame a raptor that is between 1 to 3 growth stages. These predators have replaced pigs and can be easily found in the world of MCPE.
Growth Stages
1st stage, raptor hatchling:
- Wild health: 3 hearts
- Tamed dinosaur health: 4 hearts, harmless
- Follows its owner
- Tamed with any type of meat (chance: 50%)
- Can be commanded to sit/stand still
2nd stage, small raptor:
- Wild health: 5 hearts
- Tamed dinosaur health: 7.5 hearts
- Follows its owner
- Tamed with any type of meat (chance: 33%)
- Can be commanded to sit/stand still
3rd stage, larger raptor:
- Wild health: 7.5 hearts
- Tamed dinosaur health: 12.5 hearts
- Wild attack damage: 4
- Tamed dinosaur attack damage: 5
- Does not follow its owner
- Hunts small animals like chickens and rabbits
- Neutral towards players
- Tamed with any type of meat (chance: 25%)
- Can be commanded to sit/stand still
4th stage, medium-sized raptor:
- Wild health: 12.5 hearts
- Tamed dinosaur health: 20 hearts
- Wild attack damage: 5
- Tamed dinosaur attack damage: 7
- Hunts sheep and cows
- Hostile towards players
- Cannot be tamed
- Can be commanded to sit/stand still
- Can be ridden
- Can be leashed
5th stage, large raptor:
- Wild health: 20 hearts
- Tamed dinosaur health: 30 hearts
- Wild attack damage: 6
- Tamed dinosaur attack damage: 10
- Hunts larger animals
- Hostile towards players
- Cannot be tamed
- Can be commanded to sit/stand still
- Can be ridden
- Can be leashed
How to tame:
- iOS/Android: hold meat in your hand, long press on the raptor, then click Tame
- Windows 10: hold meat in your hand and right-click on the raptor
Once you have tamed your own pet in the world of MCPE, it won’t immediately become big and strong. You can either wait 30 minutes for it to grow or feed it plenty of meat to speed up the process:
Your loyal raptor will follow you throughout the world of MCPE and will protect you from any enemies you encounter.
Predators in growth stages 1-3 can be commanded to stay in place. Once they grow up (stages 4-5), they will no longer obey your commands, and you will need to use a leash to tie them to a fence.
Riding and Item Storage
You can ride your tamed raptor across the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition, but first, you need to equip it with a saddle.
How to saddle:
- iOS/Android: long press on the dinosaur + click on the saddle, then long press on the dinosaur with an iron sword in hand + click on the Ride button
- Windows 10: right-click first with the saddle in hand, then with the iron sword in hand
Your tamed raptor can also be used to carry your items throughout the world of Minecraft PE. Simply open the inventory while riding the raptor, and you will see your pet’s inventory, which has 27 slots.
Breeding
You can create a third raptor from two creatures by feeding both of them meat. Hearts will appear above them, and a third raptor will spawn. To use these two again for breeding, you must wait 3 minutes while in the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition.
Installing Raptors (.mcpack)
- Download the mod marked with “.mcpack” below.
- Run the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
- Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to world settings.
- Set the imported:
— Resource Packs.
— Addons for the world. - Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
- It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!
Installing Raptors (.zip)
- Download the mod below.
- Extract the two folders from the archive.
- Move the folder “Raptors Behavior Pack” to the folder /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/
- Move the folder “Raptors Resource Pack” to the folder /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- Set the selected world with the resource pack and addon that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
- Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
