Redstone + Mod introduces several missing items and elements related to redstone into the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition. This mod was specifically created for the mobile version of the game, as redstone was officially introduced in Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.13, but not in its entirety. Redstone + implements those missing blocks in the game, although not all of them are available yet, as some redstone blocks are still under development and will be added soon.
Item IDs:
- Piston (id – 33)
- Sticky Piston (id – 127/29)
- Repeater (id – 700)
- Command Block (id – 227)
- Comparator (id – 701)
- Dispenser (id – 239)
- Dropper (id – 240)
- Slime Block (id – 241)
Redstone Repeater:
Repeaters are utilized to extend the signal transmitted through redstone wires, ensuring that electricity reaches its intended destination effectively.
For instance, if you use excessively long wire types that stretch over several dozen blocks, the electricity sent through the wire may not reach its target. Imagine running a wire to a lamp; when you activate the lever, electricity will flow, but it may not reach the lamp.
To resolve this issue, you can use Repeaters, which will continue the signal further along the redstone wire. As shown in the image, using a repeater allows the signal to reach the lamp.
Pistons:
There are two types of pistons. The standard piston pushes blocks forward, while the sticky piston can push blocks and then retract them back to their original positions.
Command Block:
The command block is an excellent tool for integrating text commands with redstone in the game. In this example, we will demonstrate how to control the weather in Minecraft Pocket Edition using simple command line inputs and redstone.
Place the command block in a convenient location and connect it with redstone to a lever. Click on the command block with an empty hand and then enter /rain in the text field to set the command for the command block, and then click “Done”. You can see a complete list of available commands by entering /help in the command line and selecting a suitable command. Note that this command does not work in the command block.
Currently, we have beautiful sunny weather in the game.
However, as soon as you switch the lever, it will send a signal through the redstone to the command block, which will execute the action specified in the command line. As you can see in the image, it started to rain in the game.
At present, the command block does not have a command line option to stop the rain. However, we hope that this feature will be included in a future update of the mod.
Slime Block:
Whenever you stand on a slime block, you will bounce upwards repeatedly, landing back on the slime block. This means that slime blocks can be used to create structures like trampolines, which is what we decided to build in this review.
Check out the images below to understand how to construct this structure for a successful build.
Dispenser:
Dispensers in this mod function slightly differently than dispensers in the PC version of Minecraft. Place the dispenser on the ground as shown in the image below.
Then, place any of the following items in the chest (preferably in stacks):
- Arrows.
- Snowballs.
- Eggs.
- Experience Bottles.
You can also configure the dispenser to create an Iron Golem.
