Custom Skin for Capes

Recently, the company Mojang launched a new version of the game — Minecraft PE 0.15.9. This update introduces a new skin pack titled “Minecon 2016.” The pack includes four unique capes for skins. All players of Minecraft Pocket Edition can acquire this skin pack for free until October 3, 2016!

If you wish to have a specific cape with your skin instead of the default one, this resource pack will assist you in achieving that! Follow the instructions below to change your skin to match the cape and do it yourself!

How does it work?

1. To obtain the “Minecon 2016” skin pack, you have until October 3, so act quickly! Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and head to the store to get the “Minecon 2016” skin pack for free (until October 3)! You will now have access to the new capes added in Minecraft PE 0.15.9! Once you have access to the capes, you can modify your skins to fit the capes!

If you prefer not to use the default skins: Alex or Steve, you can change them. You will need a texture pack, which we have attached to this post. You can download these textures at the end of the article. Read the complete guide on changing skins in MCPE, and then follow the steps as outlined!

2. Install the textures on your Minecraft Pocket Edition client — installation guide for textures!

3. You will also need a file manager to replace some files included in the textures. We recommend the following types of file managers for this task:

• Android: ES File Explorer
• Windows 10: 7-Zip
• iOS: iExplorer

4. Locate your skin in “.png” format on your device. If you don’t have a skin yet, you can download one here — https://en.planet-mc.net/skins/

5. Using the file manager (ES File Explorer, 7-Zip, or iExplorer), find the file steve.png: /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/Custom Skin for the folder Capes/images/mob/

6. Replace the skin steve.png with your own skin. For instance, you can delete the steve.png skin, then move your skin into this folder and rename it to “steve.png“.

7. Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, and then click the button under your character’s skin to access the cape skin selection.

8. To ensure everything is functioning correctly — enter a world in Minecraft Pocket Edition. As you can see, we are playing with the new “Minecon 2016” capes and our customized skins that match these capes!
