Exploring Innovative Storage Solutions with Critical Crates Mod
Critical Crates introduces exciting new storage options tailored for various players, enhancing their item management experience with a unique crate block. These crates come in a wide array of variants, encompassing every type of vanilla wood and existing glass styles. Additionally, certain crate types may feature exclusive characteristics! Players can further personalize these crates by applying a range of upgrades to help mitigate storage challenges or prevent item loss. However, it’s crucial to choose your upgrade wisely since each crate can only undergo a single upgrade process.
As of now, this mod is exclusively designed for NeoForge version 1.21.1, with potential future updates planned for additional versions and loaders.

Complete Vanilla Wood Crate Variants (available in version 1.21.1):

Take caution; the wood crates have the potential to catch fire and obliterate your items if mishandled! Consider upgrading them or opting for a suitable material to avert this calamity. Notably, while crimson and warped crates belong to the wood category, they exhibit resistance to both fire and lava.

Furthermore, glass crates have the unique ability to display the item placed in their top left inventory slot as if encased within the block. This feature allows for easy labeling of the items stored inside or just for decorative flair!

To apply or remove an upgrade, simply right-click with the designated item in hand to see it effortlessly integrated into or extracted from the crate!
Here’s what each upgrade entails; choose wisely, as you can only select one:
1. Obsidian Reinforcement
Safeguard your items from potential threats such as creepers or other explosive foes. This upgrade grants the crate blast resistance akin to that of obsidian blocks, ensuring that your storage remains secure and minimizing the chance of item disasters from explosions.
2. Lamp Simulator
Illuminate every dark corner effortlessly without the need for torches. This upgrade enhances your base’s lighting with a hidden light source that functions similarly to a copper bulb, complete with its own inventory! With just one redstone signal, this crate prevents unwanted monster spawns in its vicinity.
3. Fireproofing
Avoid the hazards of rapidly spreading flames! This upgrade not only protects wooden crates from flames but also offers immunity against lava! Feel free to test its effectiveness by tossing it into lava.
Each upgrade can be removed with the pliers item (located far left in the image). This tool requires just one iron and two leather for crafting! For a real challenge, consider disabling the upgrade removal option in the configuration files, and remember that the pliers are crucial in the crafting process of each respective upgrade.
