Create: Frogport Networks

Have you ever wanted your items to intuitively know their destination instead of traveling long distances along belts? This addon addresses that very need. Frogport Networks introduces an IP-like networking system to the Create mod. You can lay down cables, assign addresses, segment into subnets, and transport items throughout your base just as packets move in a real network. This system is built directly upon Create’s logistics, with components like Frogports, packagers, funnels, and chutes seamlessly integrating into the entire setup, making it feel cohesive rather than an afterthought.

The Building Blocks

Router – establishes the subnet for all connected devices and requires rotational power.
NAS – serves as storage; insert drives to consolidate them into one inventory.
Terminal – your network interface that allows you to view and access all drives simultaneously.
Network Port – the connector for interfacing with the physical world.
Gateway – connects separate subnets, allowing for shared resources.
Computer – operates as the autocrafting processor.
Network Monitor – provides a comprehensive overview of the entire network for administrative purposes.

Every cable can support up to four colored strands, with a total of 16 colors available. Each color functions as an independent subnet, allowing for the establishment of entirely separate networks within the same physical space.

Scalable Storage Solutions

Your drives fit into the NAS, and the capacity varies based on the tier of the drive:

1M items / 256 types

With six drive slots in each NAS, you can potentially store up to 1,536 unique item types within a single unit. The Terminal allows you to view and search this consolidated inventory, regardless of drive location.

Item Management

The Network Port facilitates the essential connection between your network and machinery. It operates with:

Create Packagers / Frogports
Funnels
Chutes
Hoppers

Thus, integrating a network with a farm or directing it into machinery is as simple as linking the appropriate block to its port.

Automated Crafting

The Computer manages crafting requests directly from the Terminal and relies on Create’s stress units (SU). You can enhance its functionalities with various upgrades:

Base – enables basic crafting.
AI-Chip – supports recursive crafting, allowing the system to calculate the necessary components for final products.
Process upgrades – connect it to Create’s machinery for various operations like smelting, deploying, mixing, milling, crushing, pressing, washing, and haunting.

Linking Networks

By placing a Gateway between two subnets, they can communicate, meaning items stored in one network can be accessed from any connected network. You can construct compact, organized subnets and connect them as needed.

Supervising Operations

The Network Monitor serves as a tool exclusive to creative mode (designed for administrative use rather than normal gameplay), providing a comprehensive overview of all items across all networks. This is particularly beneficial for server operators and for troubleshooting systems.

Optional Integration with JEI

If you utilize JEI, the Terminal is compatible with it:

R / U on any item for easy recipe and usage lookup.
The search functions synchronize in both directions.
Drag items from JEI directly onto the Terminal to add them to the autocrafting queue.

No JEI? No worries — the mod operates perfectly well without it.
