Chest Pet Mod — this amazing addon introduces new pets, known as ‘chests’, into the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition. These chests allow you to store your: items, blocks, tools, and other belongings. To have the chests follow you, you need to tame them. Each chest has 27 slots, meaning you can keep up to 27 different items inside.
How does it work?
Tameable chests can be found almost anywhere in the Minecraft Pocket Edition world. They replace creepers. Wild chests have 10 health points. By default, wild chests will try to avoid players. If attacked, they will retaliate against the enemy (each hit deals 5 hearts of damage).
When you successfully defeat a chest, you will receive the same items that were inside:
- Bonus Chest (chance: 25%)
- Igloo Chest (chance: 20%)
- Smithing Chest (chance: 15%)
- Chest in an Abandoned Mine (chance: 15%)
- Desert Chest (chance: 10%)
- Jungle Chest (chance: 10%)
- Ender Chest (chance: 5%)
You can tame a wild chest by feeding it one of the following items (taming chance: 35%). Once tamed, it will follow players.
- Emerald.
- Coal.
- Diamond.
- Redstone.
- Gold Ingot.
- Iron Ingot.
- Lapis Lazuli.
A tamed chest has 27 slots available. It will follow you everywhere, allowing you to store all your necessary items for easy transport while carrying only the essentials.
Tamed chests function like regular chests, except they have legs that enable them to move.
How to open the chest?
- If you are playing on an Android or iOS device, tap the chest with a slight delay.
- If you are on Windows 10, right-click on it.
If you prefer the chest not to follow you, simply tie it to a fence using a lead.
The best feature of this chest is that once tamed, it cannot take damage. This means you will never lose your items.
Installing Chest Pet (.mcpack)
- Download the mod labeled as “.mcpack” below.
- Run the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
- Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to world settings.
- Set the imported:
— Resource Packs.
— Addons for the world. - Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
- It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!
Installing Chest Pet (.zip)
- Download the mod below.
- Extract the two folders from the archive.
- Move the folder “Chest Pet Behavior Pack” to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ folder.
- Move the folder “Chest Pet Resource Pack” to the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ folder.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- Set the selected world with the resource pack and addon that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
- Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
