Chat Translator is an innovative mod for Minecraft that enriches your chat functionality by providing real-time translation services through the DeepL API. Whether engaging on a diverse server or communicating with friends who speak different languages, this mod effortlessly translates chat messages, fostering seamless and inclusive conversations.

Installation Guide

1. Download Fabric Loader: Obtain it from fabricmc.net. Ensure you select a version of 0.16.10 or higher during installation.
2. Obtain Fabric API: Download from Modrinth and place the file in your mods directory.
3. Get Chat Translator: Access the latest JAR file from the releases section.
4. Transfer to Mods Folder: Move the downloaded JAR file into your Minecraft mods folder.
5. Launch Minecraft: Start the game using the Fabric profile.

Configuration Setup

To access the configuration interface during gameplay, press the default keybind KP_ADD (numpad +) or through the Mod Menu if already installed.

• API Key Input: Enter your DeepL API key here. If a key is already in place, it will be masked (e.g., ******). You can substitute it with a new key.
• Select Free / Pro Mode: Toggle between the basic and enhanced features of the DeepL API. The free mode offers essential functionalities, while the pro mode unlocks advanced options and increased limits.
• Test Your API Key: Verify the validity of your API key. The results (success or failure) will be displayed in the designated result area.
• Result Display: This field shows the outcome of the API key test, which could be a translated example or an error notification.
• Save Changes: Save your configurations and exit the settings menu.
• Language Preference: Set your chosen language for chat translations (e.g., "EN" for English, "FR" for French).
• Manual Source Language Option: Choose whether to manually designate the source language. It will display "Yes" or "No" accordingly.
• Specify Source Language: This option is available only if manual selection is enabled. Choose the language of the text to be translated (e.g., "ES" for Spanish).
• The message intended for translation will appear highlighted in purple and enclosed in brackets at the end of each chat entry.

Using the Mod In-Game

Situated above the chat input area, this box allows you to enter text for translation. Press Enter to proceed:

• Visible only to you: ` (e.g.,Hello EN ES` translates "Hello" from English to Spanish).
• Send to chat: use /send (e.g., /send Bonjour FR EN to send "Hello").

Multilingual Support

This mod accommodates a variety of languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Danish, German, US English, Spanish (both ES and MX), Finnish, French, Hindi, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Chinese (ZH and TW). It automatically detects the language you are using in Minecraft.
