Just a few days ago at Minecon Earth, it was announced that three biomes in Minecraft Bedrock will be revamped and will feature new elements. Attendees of Minecon will have the opportunity to vote on what they would like to see prioritized in these updates! The biomes set for an upgrade are the desert, taiga, and savanna. Among the most exciting new features are the introduction of new mobs, such as the Meerkat and Ostrich, along with new items like trees and bushes in Minecraft. The mod “Biome Chooser” is a concept based on these features from Minecraft Bedrock.
How Does It Work?
Desert Biome:
- Meerkats! These creatures inhabit only deserts, and if you try to breed them in other biomes, they will die instantly.
- New trees that currently replace shulkers.
Taiga Biome:
- Foxes! These adorable animals will replace wolves and can be found spawning randomly in the Taiga.
- Berry Bush! This shrub will also appear here. You can harvest them using shears to obtain berries, which are edible. The bush takes 10 minutes to grow.
- Campfire! There’s nothing better than gathering around a campfire with friends after a long night of adventures in Minecraft. Currently, you can only spawn this object by spawning a zombie villager.
Savanna Biome:
- Ostrich! These bipedal birds will replace chickens and can be ridden!
- Baobabs – massive trees that replace creepers!
- Termites! They resemble spiders but are much smaller. They feed on trees!
