Better Channeling Overview

Better Channeling is a lightweight mod designed for the Fabric framework, which enriches the Channeling enchantment by adding multiple levels of varying intensities, all while adhering closely to the traditional gameplay mechanics.

✨ Enchantment Levels for Channeling:

1. Channeling I
   • Functions precisely like the original game: tridents can summon lightning exclusively during thunderstorms.
2. Channeling II
   • Enables lightning strikes during any rain, not limited to just thunderstorms.
   • Rare find: Occurs in approximately 5-6% of all Channeling enchantments when enchanting at level 30.
3. Channeling III
   • Grants the ability to strike lightning at any moment, indifferent to the weather conditions.
   • Unavailable through the enchanting table. Must be acquired by combining Channeling II tridents or books using an anvil.

   🛠️ Installation Guide

4. Download the Mod
   • Select the version that matches your Minecraft version:
     • Example: 1.0-1.16.1 → Mod version 1.0 compatible with Minecraft 1.16.1
   • Retrieve the BetterChanneling-.jar file.
5. Install Fabric Loader
   • Get and run the Fabric installer.
   • Note: The Fabric API is not necessary for this mod.
6. Integrate Better Channeling
   • Move the downloaded .jar file into your mods directory:
     • ~/.minecraft/mods (or the equivalent location if using a launcher like MultiMC or Prism)
   • If a mods folder is absent, run Minecraft with Fabric once to create it.
7. Confirm Installation
   • Launch Minecraft utilizing Fabric.
   • Within a creative world:
     • Search for “Channeling” in the creative inventory.
     • You should find three enchanted books (Channeling I, II, III).
   • Alternatively, use /enchant @p channeling 3 to directly test tridents.

   🧪 Mod Compatibility

8. Functional in both single-player and multiplayer modes.
9. When utilized on a Fabric server, it should operate effectively, even if players do not have the mod on their client side.
10. It is recommended that both clients and servers install the mod to ensure all enchantments are visible (for example, seeing Channeling II and III in creative menus or enchanting interfaces).
11. This mod does not require Fabric API.
12. Generally compatible with other mods that do not alter Trident or Channeling functions.
13. If you encounter issues with another mod, please report the issue for potential resolution.

🔄 Uninstalling the Mod

14. This mod can be safely removed from existing worlds, and uninstalling Better Channeling will not damage your game world or lead to complications.
15. Tridents enchanted with Channeling I, II, or III will keep their enchantments but revert to behaving like standard vanilla Channeling tridents post-uninstallation.
16. This ensures that the mod can be added or removed from mod packs and multiplayer servers without lasting consequences.
