Discover an innovative mod that tears through the boundaries of reality!
Affix is a cutting-edge mod that introduces fresh mechanics within Minecraft, augmented by stunning visual effects enabled through the Veil API. This mod caters to players who relish the thrill of swift movement and exploration, all while striving to keep gameplay balanced and engaging.
IMPORTANT: Affix utilizes the Veil API. Employing other mods that alter the Minecraft rendering, such as Sodium, may cause the mod’s visual effects to malfunction!
How to Begin
The Affix mod starts to enhance your Minecraft adventure once you reach the late game, specifically within the end cities. Here, players will discover a unique item known as the "Heavy Mirror", which is essential for identifying and eliminating anomalies (new entities) located in the overworld. In exchange for these anomalies, players gain loot that is valuable for crafting new equipment.
When activated, the Heavy Mirror displays five numbers structured into three sections:
- Top Number: Indicates the cooldown duration before players can uncover new anomalies.
- Middle Two Numbers: Provide the coordinates for locating the anomaly.
- Bottom Two Numbers: Show the player’s current location in the overworld, simplifying the process of finding anomalies.
After successfully locating an anomaly, players should utilize the Heavy Mirror to activate the "Interdimensional Vision". This function allows players to visualize the anomaly. By focusing on the core of the anomaly, players can inflict damage, as evidenced by the particle effects that emerge!
Crafting Recipes
The materials collected from anomalies can be used to create two new equipment items:
The Refractor:
The Accelerator:
Innovative Gameplay Mechanics
These new gear items introduce exciting movement mechanics, enhancing travel and combat experiences:
The Refractor: This non-consumable item can solely be utilized in the Overworld, allowing players to phase through the ground, providing a powerful boost upon exiting the phase.
The Accelerator: This consumable item bestows players with an Accelerated effect. While under this effect, players will experience a Dark/White vision akin to that of the Heavy Mirror Vision, coupled with the ability to dash or dodge in the direction they are facing based on their keyboard input. Glyphs will appear on the screen during this effect.
IMPORTANT: If players dash excessively, the Glyphs will shift from white to red. Prolonged dashing will inflict an in-game debuff called "behind you." This status causes players to hear phantom sounds while no real events are occurring, potentially inflicting random damage (up to 2 hearts) at inconsistent intervals!
