With the release of Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.14.0, players can now create maps. If you’re unsure how to make a map in Minecraft PE, we recommend checking out our guide on how to create a map in Minecraft PE. The guide provides detailed instructions on creating a map and what you need for it. In this article, we’ll explain how to add a cursor to your map to help you navigate your location.
Having a cursor makes it easier to find your way since you can see where you are; however, a map without a cursor feels more authentic. It presents a “real” representation of your surroundings that you can explore while using nearby hills as reference points. Unique landscapes around you indicated on the map can give you a rough idea of your position…
But why complicate your survival in Minecraft Pocket Edition when you can simply add a cursor to your map that indicates your position relative to: North, South, East, and West?
How to Create a Cursor?
Once you’ve created your map, i.e., “How to Make a Map in Minecraft PE?“, head over to an anvil. Place the map in the first empty slot and a compass in the second. Now you can obtain a processed map with a cursor.
As you can see, the compass has appeared on the map, indicating your current location and the direction you are facing.
We moved slightly towards a swamp, and as you can see, the cursor has also changed its position.
