Bat [Mobs][Minecraft PE Guides]

Bats are classified as friendly mobs (they do not attack players, even if provoked).

Bats spawn in dark enclosed spaces. They are relatively useless, with their only potential use being to help locate a mine by their echolocation sounds. They do not drop any items.

Specifically regarding their spawn locations, they can be found in caves, ravines, abandoned mineshafts, treasure rooms, desert temples, jungle temples, and drained underwater ruins. A minimum area of 1×1 is required for them to spawn, but larger areas increase the likelihood of these mobs appearing.

Here are some interesting facts:

• Bats are immune to status effects.
• Bats are the only flying mob in the overworld, as well as the only friendly flying mob and the smallest friendly mob in the game.
• It’s common to find multiple bats clustered on ceilings.
• Occasionally, a bat may fly into lava and continue burning while navigating through a cave until it dies.
• Bats sometimes appear on the surface during the day, often near ravines, mines, and caves.
• You cannot leash a bat.
