Minecraft: Bedrock Edition 1.21.50 - The Garden Awakens

Shh! I’m writing this changelog from behind a pale oak tree – staying extra quiet because the Garden Awakens update has arrived, and creakings are emerging in pale gardens across the Overworld! The Garden Awakens introduces the mysterious pale garden biome, which features carpets of moss, pale oak trees, and a unique flower called the eyeblossom. It also brings a new hostile mob known as the creaking, plus a key component called the creaking heart that holds the secret to defeating and summoning them. When facing a creaking, players can collect resin clumps—a new material that can be crafted into resin bricks or used for armor trimming. Have I covered everything? Oh, bug fixes too! Now, let’s see if I can sneak away before that creaking spots me…

The Garden Awakens Update in Minecraft

New Features

Gameplay Drop

  • Added Pale Garden Biome, Pale Oak Tree, Pale Moss Block, Pale Moss Carpet, Pale Hanging Moss, and Pale Oak Wood set.
  • Added Creaking mob, Creaking Spawn Egg, and Creaking Heart block.

Creaking Heart

  • The Creaking Heart is a “living” block found inside Pale Oak trees, surrounded by Pale Oak wood logs. It can spawn a creaking mob at night when placed between two properly aligned Pale Oak log blocks.
  • Active at night and dormant during the day.
  • Emits particle trails towards a connected creaking when it’s hit by a player.
  • If the Creaking Heart block is destroyed, the associated creaking disappears.
  • Cannot be moved by pistons or used as fuel.
  • Spawning and despawning a creaking generates vibrations from the creaking’s position.
  • Destroying naturally generated Creaking Hearts yields 20 to 24 XP, even if collected with Silk Touch.

Creaking Mob

  • Creakings appear at night in the Pale Garden biome if there is an active Creaking Heart inside a Pale Oak tree.
  • An active creaking freezes when a player looks at it.
  • Cannot be damaged normally.
  • Linked to a Creaking Heart block through particle trails when hit.
  • Despawns if the linked Creaking Heart is destroyed.
  • Spawns and despawns based on the day/night cycle, unaffected by light levels.
  • Cannot enter boats or use portals if spawned from a Creaking Heart.
  • Spawn Egg-creaking is independent of a Creaking Heart, vulnerable to damage, and persists through day/night cycles with just one health point (half a heart).
  • Carved pumpkins allow players to look at creakings without freezing them in place.
  • Creakings twitch and crumble if their heart block is destroyed or if trapped in a hole with a player for more than 5 seconds.
  • A crumbling creaking triggers nearby Sculk Catalysts to bloom, but without spawning Sculk as they drop no XP.
  • New sounds for creakings include sway, attack, and crumble effects.

Eyeblossom

  • Eyeblossoms generate in the Pale Garden biome, featuring two variants: Closed and Open.
  • They change between variants depending on the time of day—Open at night and Closed during the day.
  • In dimensions lacking a day/night cycle, they retain their current state.
  • Eyeblossoms communicate with one another, coordinating when to open or close.
  • Open Eyeblossoms emit a faint glow at night and produce ambient sounds when on Pale Moss Blocks.
  • Bees interacting with Eyeblossoms get poisoned.
  • Suspicious Stew made from Eyeblossoms can cause blindness or nausea depending on the variant used.
  • Gray or orange dye can be crafted from Closed and Open Eyeblossoms respectively.
  • Sounds play when Eyeblossoms open and close.

Pale Garden

  • A variation of the Dark Forest biome, featuring Pale Oak trees and Pale Moss-covered grounds.
  • Animal mobs do not spawn naturally here.
  • New biome-specific ambient sounds added, generated by the blocks found in the biome.
  • Pale Hanging Moss emits subtle atmospheric sounds when attached to Pale Oak Logs or Leaves.
  • Creaking Heart blocks produce eerie sounds when surrounded by logs during the night.
  • Music volume gradually fades upon entering the Pale Garden and resumes when leaving.

Resin Clumps

  • Dropped by Creaking Hearts when destroyed or during combat.
  • Can be crafted into Resin Blocks, which can then be hardened into Resin Bricks.
  • Resin Bricks can be used to craft a full set of building items including stairs, slabs, and walls.

Bug Fixes
